Our Story
In August of 1979 Roy Gill opened Roy’s Coffee Shop. Our concept was good food at a reasonable price. We started with a small diner type lunch counter and an open grill kitchen. Breakfast, homemade soup, great hamburgers and fish & chips were the mainstay. And we were busy right away. We had only 4 tables and a counter to start with. We squeezed a few more seats here and there but it was clear we needed a major expansion. In 1986 we tripled our capacity to 92 seats. There have been a couple more renovations over the years when we needed to update.
Roy passed away in 2004. Mario & Melissa Athanasiou bought Roy's from Margaret (Roy's wife), which still carries on the tradition at Roy’s Family Restaurant .
